We warmly welcome all our visitors, especially the Sunset administrators, brother Truitt and Chris who made this long journey to help us work towards the future of SIBI.
On Wednesday evening, brother Chris, VP of advance-ment at SIBI, Lubbock exhorted the congregation at a special session.
Brother Truitt Adair, president of SIBI, Lubbock will speak on the subject of "Healthy Church Growth" at the morning worships today. Come back at 6pm to hear deacon Swee Aun’s firstborn, brother John Lim deliver his maiden speech at the evening worship.
We encourage all members to stay behind for the monthly a cappella singing today at 1:30pm. If you have pre-ordered your lunch, please collect your lunch box from sister Julie Wee at the lobby.
Join us this Wednesday at 7:30pm for the SPC “Life Recovery” series by elder Simon Goh and his team of teachers. Don’t miss the final three lessons.
As our schools celebrate Teacher’s Day this week, let us be reminded to honour our BC teachers too!
PP’s 2010 Missions Sunday:
FOCUS ON NATIONS
INDONESIA and EAST TIMOR — About 86 percent of Indonesia’s 228 million inhabitants claim Islam as their faith, making it the world’s largest Muslim population. The nation has more than 150 Churches of Christ with a combined membership of nearly 10,000, saYS Winston Bolt, director of Batam Bible College, Indonesia.
The largest concentration of churches of Christ are on the island of Nias which continue to grow since the first conversion in the 1960s. Brother Dennis Cady, one of the pioneer missionaries will be our keynote speaker at our Missions Sunday next month.
There are no known Churches of Christ in East Timor, an independent nation since 2002 with 1.1 million inhabitants.
PP planted the church in Batam with brother Winston Bolt. The congregation is now working with PP missions to reach the rest of Indonesia with the gospel. PP has also sent medical teams to work in Batam and Nias in addition to missions work. If Indonesia is your focus, join the PPBIG by sending an email to ppcoc@pacific.net.sg.
