He has not forgotten thee ……

The plane landed in Changi Airport.

She felt lost, alone and frightened; thousands of miles away from home. She looked timidly into the face of the woman who was to be her employer for the next two years. Then, after the preliminary round of checks and administrative work, she was bundled into the family car and driven away. Her heart was racing, she didn’t know what to expect – what kind of employer would she have; could she adjust to life with this family ……… All kinds of questions raced through her mind as she pondered over them with uncertainty and unease.

Then, a feeling of calm flowed through her as she recalled her mum’s words, “Go, look for the Church of Christ at Pasir Panjang (PPCOC).”Three months passed, she finally got her first off-day. She found her way to PPCOC. There she was greeted by a group of warm and loving Christians, extending their love, warmth and smiles to Filipinas, Indonesians and Singaporeans alike. They were all obviously enjoying their fellowship as they sang and praised God, studied His Word and worshipped together with the whole congregation.

Thank God for the House Helpers’ Class in PPCOC. God is good and kind; He loves everyone. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) He has provided for the existence of this class that the domestic helpers, working in Singapore, may find a place to worship Him and be encouraged by the church. The Lord has not forgotten those who are alone and far away from home.

Can we feel the love and compassion of our Lord for these visitors to Singapore? Are we sharing God’s love with them?May we all be reminded that we have to bring the gospel of God’s grace and love to those who do not know Him. For those of us who have tasted of His goodness and the blessing of the House Helpers’ Class, may we too bring this good news to those who have not known Him. Let’s tell other domestic helpers about this class.

Here’s what you can share with them:

the love of God for His people

the presence of this special class in PPCOC

the lessons you have learned here

the Bible Correspondence Course they can sign up for tracts on the Good News in English or Tagalog free Bible and information on “How to Become a Christian”

the monthly fellowshipLet’s go out and bring them in!
