Encouragement to Keep On Keeping On


TITLE: GOD'S GRACETEXT: EPHESIANS 2:8. 9

Introduction: Grace is defined as "unmerited favour." Yet, there is another light ot it-work. Let's search the richness of God's grace.

I Grace abounds-where there is sin-Romans 5:20-21

II Grace motivates-the gift of Christ-Hebrews 2:9

III Grace teaches-how we should live-Titus 2:1 1-12

IV Grace helps-us to believe-Acts 18:27

V Grace saves-through faith-Ephesians 2:8-9

VI Grace fashions - us into God's workmanship Ephesians 2:10

VII Grace assists-us to labour on (II Cor. 11:24-27)

VIII Grace enables -us to bear our burdens-II Corinthians 1 2:9

Conclusion: Men can only be saved by grace of God (Romans 3:27, 4:4-5, 4:7-8, 11:6; Luke 17:10;Revelations 1 :5; Hebrews 2 :9).



TITLE: BACKSLIDING

I Warning Against Backsliding

a) O.T. backsliders-Hosea 11:7
b) Christian backsliders-Galatians 5:4
c) We must take heed-I Cor.10: 12

II Results of Backsliding

a) Crucify Jesus again-Hebrews 6 :4-6
b) Great punishment-Hebrews 10:26-31
c) Great loss-II Peter 2:20-22

III What We Can Do

a) Warn and pray for them - II Tim. 4:2, Luke 22:32
b) Strengthen, exhort and restore them - I Thess. 5:14;Heb.3:12-13;Gal. 6:1
c) Withdraw and admonish them - II Thess. 3:6 14-15

IV What They Should Do

a) Realise their error-Luke 15: 17-19
b) Repent and pray to God-Acts 8:20-23
c) Make a public confession if sinned publicly -James 5:16

Conclusion: To keep from backsliding, we must

a) Abide in Christ-John 15: 1-6
b) Keep our heart from unbelief-Heb .3: 12-14
c) Walk in the light-I John I




TITLE: ARISE, LET US BUILDTEXT: Nehemiah 2:20

Introduction: There was a need - to build for God. There were good intentions ... yet the construction was not completed.

I The Context (Haggai 1:9)

a) Everyone busy in their own business
b) God's house lies in ruins
c) Wall of Jerusalem lies desolate

II The Solution (Nehemiah 2:20)

a) The need was depicted in the ruins of God's house
b) The obstacle was their personal indifference
c) The motivation was given in God's blessings and promises

III The Success (Nehemiah 4:6)

a) Tearing down was the initial necessity
b) The diff1culties were conquered because the people had a mind to work
c) A worthy cause because God was with them.

Conclusion: We too can build at Pasir Panjang. If we will dedicate ourselves totally in one united effort to God.
